There are a lot of women who make the mistake of meeting someone whom they thought were nice, yet very single young men, only to discover they are part of a group of women that this man has decided to date…all at once. Why do men play the field? Why not settle down with one good Christian woman and live happily ever after…as women most often daydream? Three main reasons they don’t are:
1. Women allow them to cheat. Yes, women can be the blame in this situation too. Be more assertive, and don’t settle for less. You deserve better than to be second-string. Seek first place. If you keep allowing it to happen, they will keep thinking they can cheat. Proverbs 23:7 For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he.
2. Their flesh is unsatisfied. Greed, lust, weakness, loneliness, or even a mental disconnection with their partner can cause them to be less satisfied with whom they’re dating, so their innate characteristic tells them to “search for something else until you feel better.” Ephesians 4:19 Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness. Men are sensitive and sometimes give in to their feelings, even though they may not give the outward appearance that they have any feelings at all. To combat those temptations, he must desire a personal commitment to change himself for himself and to lust after the spirit rather than the flesh. Galatians 5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. He has to learn to be content even when he is being tempted. Philippians 4:11 Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.3. If they knew better, they’d do better. If his parents or role models taught him how to respect a woman and provide for a woman, when he is ready to be the man you need, he will not forget what he was taught. Do not make the mistake of taking on the task of helping a man “know better or do better.” Leave that impossible task up to divine intervention. If a man has a desire in his heart to change for the better, then he will seek the knowledge of a higher power in order to become the man any woman may want him to be. He just needs to do one thing… Matthew 6:33 seek first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
